Hinton lies within a vast and beautiful wilderness setting. Experience shows that while our backyard can be an outdoor adventure enthusiasts paradise, it can quickly become a hostile environment. It is during these hostile times that Hinton Search and Rescue volunteers willingly assist first responders to find individuals that are in distress, or imminent danger.

Objective

• To train and maintain a group of volunteers capable of providing search and rescue services.
• To provide trained search and rescue services to other SAR groups; or other search and rescue services.
• To provide the necessary support to members of HSAR.
• To provide education to schools and the public.
